How is Minimalism in sculpture related to the International style in architecture?

My living room is done with contemporary, geometric shapes, in various neutral shades of beige/brown. Where can I find a modern, sensual sculpture to put on my mantel? I'm looking for something VERY INEXPENSIVE and something long rather than tall. Also, I really like the concept of abstract or contemporary figures as opposed to shapes. I'm not particular about the material. Any suggestions?

The sculpture was made by my deceased father in law. It is quite dusty, especially in the crevices and using water would rust the piece. I am at a loss as to what to use.

Which is easier to make; a sugar sculpture or a chocolate sculpture?
